M.E.(Myalgic Encephalopathy or Myalgic Encephalomyelitis) is also known as post viral chronic fatigue syndrome (PVFS).
This condition has caused much controversy with some doctors, who have been sceptical as to whether or not such a condition actually exists and question whether it is real or purely psychological. Even today, many doctors will not offer a diagnosis of M.E.
M.E symptoms are quite wide-ranging but the most common symptom is profound muscle fatigue after physical exertion; there are also problems with memory and concentration.
Some of the symptoms of M.E include:
- joint pain but no swelling or tenderness
- muscle pain and/or twitching
- flu-like feelings
- swollen glands
- low blood pressure
- problems with balance
- intolerance of temperatures extremes
- sensitivity to bright light and loud NOISE
- disturbed sleep pattern where the person doesn’t feel rested
- sore throats
- alcohol intolerance
There are no drugs available to treat this condition at present, although it would seem that some are being assessed.
Through comprehensive training with the IAPH, I am now able to offer a six week course during which the student (sufferer) is trained to deal with ME in a positive way and greatly reduce the symptoms. The course includes the DREAM technique. It’s all about changing the limiting belief system (THRIVE).
