Firstly, let me say that undergoing hypnotherapy with you was one of the best things I’ve ever done – both for myself, and also as an adventure in itself. So thank you very much for that.
Let’s go thru the list of “stuff” I was hoping might get sorted out
1. The Mother — ???— I was amazed that by the end of the sessions when I went to visit her, she had absolutely no power whatsoever to cause me to feel as I used to in her company. In short, she’s behaving (at long last) with me, and knows quite well she can’t (ever) get away with unpleasant comments/guilt trips etc
This in itself is great – I’m less defensive/aggressive and it has also enabled me to be able to listen to her, offer her what reassurance I can.
2. Depression; Looking back, I think I was probably deeply and chronically depressed for most of my life. I just wasn’t aware of it.
In the last 3 or 4 months, since I saw you, I’ve slowly shed that depression, and in truth I have a zest and enthusiasm for life that I still find quite magical; if this is what “normal” people feel like most days then I’m all for it.
I’ve stopped taking the prescribed anti depressants – something I didn’t really ever want to take, and I feel absolutely great without them
3. Bruxism (toothgrinding)
I haven’t been able to sleep on the right hand side of my body since I was around 21 – it hurt my ear so much I used to wake in a lot of pain.
Not now though. I can sleep anyway I want, which is especially great as with The Back problem I have, it’s necessary to me to be able to move frequently in my sleep.
In truth, it was well worth being hypnotised purely to lose that awful pain in my jaw, so thank you especially for that!
So many things have changed and all for the good; I feel new and shiny and generally cheerful, despite the still constant aches and pains I have – but they’re mechanical rather than psychosomatic, and therefore it’s something I can work with the GPs and Hospital Consultants. It’s such a relief, in an odd sort of way, to truly KNOW I’m not making up the pain – it’s real!
It doesn’t half make dealing with the NHS so much easier.
So thanks Diane; thanks for studying and learning how to perform hypnotherapy; thanks for being so damned good at your profession and thanks for being the best practitioner I’ve had the privilege of meeting.
Further email from Jill M:
The one thing (which was actually the main reason for getting in touch, would you believe?) I forgot to mention is:
I was 14 stone 5 when I first came to see you in February? March 08; couldn’t shift the weight. I haven’t changed my diet, because I’m habitually careful of calorie intake – it’s just habit/good eating, which is why being so heavy was so frustrating.
Today, 3 or 4 months after the treatment the scales tell me I am 13stone 8!
I appear to be steadily losing around 3/4 to one pound a week, and am still reducing!
I’ll let you know when I’ve gone down to a size 14. At the moment I’m 16/18 depending on cut instead of 18/20 even when I breathed in a bit.
This has pleased me immensely and Monsoon shares will probably show a sharp increase this quarter!
